Four of my photographs will be part of the now annual juried art exhibit held by Laura Moore Art Gallery in McKinney, TX. This year the theme is ECHO and the artistic challenge is conceptual: to represent visually something that is usually heard. The photo above shows echo visually through the image of a small, echoing street in Orta San Giulio, a quaint town on the shore of Lake Orta in Italy. It’s an inkjet print.
This is a fiber-based silver gelatin print of old pots in one of the most unexpected places: between two small houses in the countryside of Texas. Pots can be echo chambers, too!
This third photograph is an archival inkjet print from Italy again. It’s the entrance on the Gardens of Isola Bella (Lago Maggiore), where steps and brandished sables echo this cat’s tail and attitude.
ECHO opens on Saturday, August 14th, 2010 at 7-10pm at Laura Moore Fine Art Studios in McKinney and echoes into a 2nd location at the McKinney Performing Arts Center. It closes on September 8. Please visit!
